The Neue Residenz is a multi-wing listed building on Domplatz in the Upper Franconian town of Bamberg. It was from 1602 the residence of the Bamberg prince bishops and replaced the Old Court on the other side of the square in this capacity.
Jun 2022. Sharing the hill with the cathedral and the historical museum, the Neue Residenz is flat-out opulent Baroque. Most famous for its banquet hall incorporating portraits of all 12 Roman emperors, it features room after room of ceilings elaborately plastered and brightly painted.
