At Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico, in a flashback to six months before, the team prepares for a critical mission. Introduced to a special ops force tasked with neutralizing a portable nuclear device on US soil, they must set aside differences to tackle this monumental challenge.
Agent Ava Winters, the leader of the team, is entrusted with spearheading the operation. As the briefing delves into the background of their adversary, Koslov, a vengeful figure with a tragic past, tensions mount amidst the daunting task ahead.
Back in the present, aboard a helicopter en route to the base, discord permeates the team dynamics. Despite their shared objective, interpersonal conflicts threaten to undermine their cohesion. Upon arrival, Ava's clumsy mishap in front of the Colonel sets a less-than-ideal tone for their mission. Guided into Area 52, the top-secret facility housing Koslov, Ava initiates dialogue with Lana, a potential informant tied to Koslov's past. As they probe for information, tensions rise within the team, exacerbated by Koslov's manipulative tactics and McKnight's impulsive outburst.
Amidst the chaos, Ava employs strategic tactics to extract valuable intel from Chen, Koslov's associate, leveraging his vulnerabilities to gain crucial insights. However, Chen's sudden demise at the hands of Koslov forces the team to rely on Lerner's decryption skills to unravel the mystery.
Meanwhile, Lerner's escapades lead her into a perilous encounter with Sharonda, a mysterious figure linked to Koslov's network. As tensions escalate, a botched assassination attempt ensues, thrusting Lerner into the crossfire of conflicting interests.
The team's pursuit of Sharonda culminates in a high-octane showdown, with Paul's heroic intervention averting disaster. Yet, the lingering effects of drugs cloud Paul's judgment, adding a new layer of uncertainty to their mission.
