I saw both versions of Payback yesterday, and I have to say that I much preferred the Director's Cut (Straight Up) over the theatrical. While I still think the theatrical version is a good movie, I highly recommend the director's cut to anyone, especially if you like these kinds of movies.

Apr 5, 2007 · One of the more brutal movies released by a major studio in recent memory, "Payback" is an instance of a movie that managed to get made by accident; it's doubtful that anything like it will be made again for a while. I mean, the movie even breaks the number one rule of film: the dog dies.
