Jan 19, 2007 · While in Italy, he met his first wife, Remigia Ferrari-Scacco. After serving as a combat officer, Brooke entered Boston University Law School and graduated in 1948. Although Brooke did not vote prior to the age of 30, his friends were able to persuade him to enter politics.
The marriage had been unhappy for years. Brooke and Remigia Ferrari-Scacco had met in her native Italy during the war and married shortly afterward. They were married for 31 years, but as Brooke's political career escalated, the couple had drifted apart.
