"Don't Forget to Watch the Movie" was a policy trailer specifically for Sony/Loews movie theaters (which later merged with AMC Theatres). It was shown before features beginning around 1996. In song, the cast of Sesame Street explain the rules (both serious and silly) of the movie theater. The short was written and composed by Tony Geiss.

A version of the song with new lyrics was used on a special episode of The Rosie O'Donnell Show in 1998, taped on the set of Sesame Street.

•Some unused concepts for the trailer include:

•Instead of surfing, Elmo was told "Don't swim," showing him swimming in mid-air (then falling down).

•Super Grover would have made a minor appearance, told "Don't fly through the air," which was later replaced with Cookie Monster eating a chair. Super Grover would then give a quick "Hello!" at the end of the short.

•Herry Monster lifting weights during the "Don't do any of these" montage.

•Near the end, the Count would have been counting the 772 "don'ts."
