The games are based on Arthur Conan Doyle 's Sherlock Holmes stories, featuring the detective Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. John H. Watson. Chapter One - soft reboot of the series and also investigation game. Prequel to all Holmes stories. The second best place to start. The Awakened reboot - a direct sequel to Chapter One, plays very similarly. So my suggestions would be: Crimes - Testament - Daughter - Chapter 1 - Awakened - older games in any order.

My question is regarding the sherlock holmes video games stories, should I play them in a specific order in order to understand the story? Note: I have already finished devil's daughter. From what I understand, much like the stories they are pretty much standalone and can be experienced in any order. Though I haven't played them all.
