  5. Sir Percy Florence Shelley (1819-1889) was the only surviving child of Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) and his second wife, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley née Godwin (1797-1851). He became the 3rd Baronet of Castle Goring on the death of his grandfather, Sir Timothy Shelley (1753-1844), the 2nd Baronet.

  6. His wife was the novelist Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, or, The Modern Prometheus. Their only surviving son, Percy Florence Shelley (1819-1889), was born in Italy. He studied at Cambridge and upon the death of his grandfather became Sir Percy, 3rd Baronet of Castle Goring, Sussex. He married Lady Jane Gibson (d. 1899) in 1848.
