  6. Starting in Staines-upon-Thames, the trail heads along the River Thames and the road out to Carlton and Queen Mary Reservoir. Here you can enjoy the views over the water. Built in 1924, the reservoir is one of the largest in London. The trail can either be doubled back or you can take the bus from Charlton Road or the train from Upper Halliford.
