Thanks to winning a crooked card game, Rochester spends the day playing golf while Jack suffers at home doing the housework. After sticking Don with the chores, Jack goes to the supermarket to do holiday grocery shopping. Naturally, helpless Jack encounters nothing but trouble.
Jack Does Christmas Shopping: Directed by Ralph Levy. With Jack Benny, Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson, Don Wilson, Dennis Day. Jack loses to Rochester at gin rummy and has to do Rochester's chores for the day while Rochester plays golf. Jack goes to the market to buy groceries for Christmas dinner.

Jack and Mary go Christmas shopping in a department store (the start of a December tradition). + The Jack Benny Program was first broadcast on the Blue Network on 2nd May 1932. With his capable cast of supporting players Benny made his show into one of great radio comedy shows.

The Jack Benny Program - Jack Does Christmas Shopping. Jack heads to a department store to buy Don Wilson a new wallet for Christmas. However, after the purchase, Jack keeps going back & changing things on the greeting card & then the gift itself, which drives the clerk (Mel Blanc) crazy.
This less-famous December 15, 1957 show is preserved on kinescope. The 1960 show improved on the central harried clerk character in dialogue and performance (Mel Blanc in both versions) and switched out one sequence so that Benny regular Dennis Day could be featured.
