Michael Apted’s Thunderheart (1992) is a glossy yet captivating Hollywood production to deal with the plight of Native Americans, relocated to reservations in the American wilderness and burdened forever with the disadvantage of social isolation, poverty, homelessness, and alcoholism.
Rotten Tomatoes reported that 89% of 19 sampled critics gave the film a positive review, with an average score of 6.5 out of 10. [8] Following its cinematic release in 1992, Thunderheart received two nominations from the Political Film Society Awards in the categories of Exposé and Human Rights.
