Children of Trojden I, first ruled jointly, and, after their uncle Siemowit II's death (1345), divided their inheritance, made official in 1349. Between 1355 and 1370, Warsaw reunited the Masovian territories, but they were again divided after Siemowit III's death.

Duchy of Masovia was a district principality and a fiefdom of the Kingdom of Poland, existing during the Middle Ages. The state was centered in Mazovia in the northeastern Kingdom of Poland, and during its existence, its capital was located in the Płock, Czersk and Warsaw.
Already married to Trojden I of Mazovia, the duchy is drawn closer to the Polish crown and Trojden's son, Bolesław Jerzy, becomes its ruler when he is invited to ascend the throne of Galicia (Halicz) as Yuri II.
