Uppsala katedralsångare is Uppsala Cathedral’s youngest and smallest choir. It was formed in 2008 and consists of 16 to 18 members, depending on the repertoire performed. All have long experience from Uppsala’s rich choral life.

Apr 28, 2024 · The Academy Chamber Choir of Uppsala is a mixed choir with approximately 35 singers. Our extensive repertoire encompasses early music as well as new music written for the choir. Performing contemporary a cappella music has become our speciality; examples include first performances of Swedish composers such as Lars Edlund and Sven-David Sandström.

The choir focus on infrequently performed works in the church musical tradition, although more traditional repertoire has a significant place. In May 2007 the choristers joined the Swedish Baroque Orchestra for a performance of Haydn’s The Creation in Uppsala Cathedral, as part of the tercentenary celebration of the birth of Carolus Linneaus. Through recordings and broadcasts the choir has reached many people with high-quality singing.
