Feb 14, 2020 · Although VFW is a grungier, messier and narratively simpler affair, there’s plenty to enjoy, from the well-worn performances from Lang and gang to the disgustingly brilliant practical gore FX (courtesy of Josh and Sierra Russell, fast becoming the go-to duo for smart genre filmmakers).
User Reviews. First, here we have a non pretentious movie with a great cast and 80's style gore-action. Second, looks like the director was inspired by movies like From Dusk Till Dawn or Hobo with a shotgun and Carpenter's Vampires.
