  3. Mar 2, 2024 · Pershing was the grandson of General of the Armies John J. Pershing, commander of the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I. His brother, Richard Warren Pershing, was killed in action during the Vietnam War. A service was held on June 28 in New York City. He was interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

  4. Colonel Francis Warren Pershing (1909–1999), John J. Pershing's son, served in the Second World War as an advisor to the Army Chief of Staff, General George C. Marshall. After the War he continued with his financial career and founded a stock brokerage firm (Pershing & Company).

On April 22, 1938 he married Muriel Bache Richards at St. Thomas Church in New York City, New York. They were the parents of two children.
