Following the closure of Place Viger in 1951, Park Avenue station suffered a swift decline in traffic. It was closed itself in 1984 when Via Rail Canada transferred the southern terminal of the Montreal-Quebec City via Trois-Rivières train service from Windsor Station to Montreal Central Station.

Parc is a station on the Blue Line of the Montreal Metro. It received its name from Avenue du Parc. The station has only one entrance, which is at 7245 Hutchison Street, the historical Park Avenue Station for trains of the Canadian Pacific Railway from 1931 to 1984.
Due to the high volume of bus passengers in the corridor, the city of Montreal has proposed building a tramway along the length of Park Avenue, which is projected to connect the city centre to the Exo's Parc commuter rail station and the Montreal Metro's Parc station.
