Ulric I Margrave of Carniola was born in 1038, in Krain, Austria as the son of Poppo I Margrave of Carniola and Hadamut of Istria. He married Sophia von Ungarn in 1062. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He died on 6 March 1070, in Holy Roman Empire, at the age of 32.
