- Irondequoit, NY. When I was a kid, I got so excited when my Dad would say we’re taking a day trip to Irondequoit. That excitement was due to the mall there that had the coolest old-fashioned carousel in the food court (which is now closed), but there’s more to this little town than that.

I may be a little biased because it’s so close to Fort Niagara and Youngstown, where I happen to spend a lot of time, but Lewiston is full of art, music, and food that really grabs your attention and keeps it.
