Wheaton College is a private Evangelical Christian liberal arts college in Wheaton, Illinois. It was founded by evangelical abolitionists in 1860. Wheaton College was a stop on the Underground Railroad and graduated one of Illinois' first black college graduates.
We offer 4 different language learning courses - also known as second language acquisition courses, a cross-cultural communication course, and group language coaching. All of our courses and programs are online and individualized to your specific language and learning context.

The TESOL and Intercultural Studies programs provide a state-approved series of courses leading to the ESL and bilingual education endorsements in Illinois. These endorsements may be added to an elementary, middle, or secondary teaching license (offered through the Education Department).
The Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language is a comprehensive, intensive introduction to the theory and methodology of English language teaching in global educational contexts. Since 2005, over 700 teachers have gone through the TEFL Certificate Program.
