Rumour has it that when production for 50 First Dates was being planned, Adam Sandler convinced the producers to film in Hawaii. He thought it would look good on the screen, and he wanted to spend time there. Most of the movie was set and filmed on the Windward Coast of Oahu.
When they arrived in Kauai on November 15 1963, Bob Denver and the crew stayed the night at the Coco Palms Hotel on the east side of the island in Wailua next to Kapaa. Elvis also stayed there while filming "Blue Hawaii."
