A neat little film. 5/10. Little to like outside of Diane Franklin. cdasloon 1 August 2003. The concept of the movie has been done before much better. The idea of a pair of lovers trying to work out their issues by reincarnating as famous historic couples doesn't work mostly from the script and overly light directing.
Better in it's breezy silliness than in its attempts to be serious about love, the kindest you can say about Second Time Lucky is that it's a harmless piece of fluff. Second Time Lucky (1984) is a rather silly film made in New Zealand, based on the premise that Satan convinces God to start over with Adam and Eve, but this time, for winner take all. Gabriel is assigned to assist (but not interfere with) Adam, a nerdish college student. Eve is played brilliantly by Diane Franklin.
