Mar 26, 2021 · South Florida. I love when they stick parens around the song title in the single release. For example, there’s the Spinners song “Games People Play” from their Pick of the Litter album. The single release was titled “‘They Just Can’t Stop It’ the (Games People Play)”...
Which is a shame, because it's a promising concept and the film has glimpses of how good it could have been. Photography was uneven but generally decent. Nice concept. TERRIBLE execution, budget, etc., this movie was terrible. It was almost bad enough to be good, but in the end was just plan old terrible.
Medieval Dead is an awesome title! Army of Darkness is a great title too. It grabs you and sticks with you, so I can see why they went with it. Army of Darkness is a little generic, while Medieval Dead sounds like a standalone but also clearly connects to the earlier movies for fans.

For this reason, many digital transfers are deliberately not restored or enhanced. So that is the answer to why the sound in older films is so different. Whether it is "terrible" is a matter of opinion, not fact.
