Záviš of Falkenštejn. (around 1250 - 1290 ) Aristocrat. He was one of the most significant members of the Český Krumlov branch of the Czech aristocratic family of Vítkovci who owned a fair part of South Bohemia.
After the execution of Zavis of Falkenstein on 24 August 1290, the castle returned to possession of the royal chamber. In 1895, A. J. Schwarzenberg had a monument built on the supposed place of the execution on the right bank of the River Vltava under the local castle.
