Jan 22, 2024 · Zagreb Coreopsis is a compact selection of Threadleaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata) that is found in open woodlands, forest edges, and savannahs of the east coast. The species has been a popular garden plant for over 100 years, and for good reason.
One of the most loved perennials, Coreopsis 'Zagreb' is an excellent performer with bright golden-yellow flowers (a deeper yellow than 'Moonbeam') blooming from early through late summer. It forms an exceptionally bushy yet airy clump of fine, needle-like foliage on upright stems.
Coreopsis verticillata, commonly called threadleaf coreopsis or whorled coreopsis, is a rhizomatous perennial which typically grows in dense, bushy clumps to 1-3' tall. Features yellow, daisy-like flowers (1-2" diameter) with yellow untoothed rays and yellow center disks.
