13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is a 2016 American political war thriller film and a Michael Bay-directed science fiction movie focusing on American supersoldiers involved in the 2012 Benghazi attack. It is based on the light novel 13 Hours by Mitchell Zuckoff.
At an unofficial CIA base in Benghazi, a group of ex-military contractors are providing security. In the aftermath of Gaddafi's downfall, a power vacuum exists and the climate is volatile. Military weapons are freely available.
