Polish Film Award, or Eagle (Polish: Polska Nagroda Filmowa, „Orzeł”) is the national film award of Poland. It has been delivered annually since 1999, with the first event held on 21 June, by the National Chamber of Audiovisual Producers (KIPA). Since 2003 they have been awarded by the Polish Film Academy.
The list is current as of the 94th Academy Awards nominations. There were fifteen Academy Awards given to Polish filmmakers for their work, including one Honorary Academy Award, one Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, and one Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
Presidential elections were held in Poland on 9 October and 23 October 2005. The outgoing President of Poland, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, had served two five-year terms and was unable to stand for a third term. Lech Kaczyński defeated Donald Tusk to become President of Poland.
