  1. Jul 17, 2018 · Stereo on, no sound from door tweeters or speakers. Tested plug to speakers at back of stereo, full output both speakers. Power lead in, fuse in back of stereo ok. Stereo is lit up but no sound. One door is missing the plastic cover inside the door card, should I check the wiring inside of both doors.

  2. Mar 8, 2010 · The stock speakers are really just a 5x7/6x8 component set. So any component set of that size will work. You could even do a coaxial set if you wanted to just ditch the upper tweeter. If you wanted to replace the upper tweeter as well, you might need to get an adapter like this one: http://www.car-speaker-adapters.com/items.php?id=SAK020

  4. Mar 8, 2010 · colt45 is probably right. There's a remote possibility that the open connection is actually inside the speaker, but the wiring is much more likely. The worse connection will be the one to the speaker itself, and it's also the easiest to check. _____

  6. Aug 22, 2014 · #1 · Aug 22, 2014. Mazda MX-5 Mk2.5 2003. Basically bought the car the radio works perfectly bar the fact no sound comes out of the speakers !. All the fuses are fine (although there is an empty audio fuse socket but it is empty no metal connections) Someone please give me a hand it is driving me insane ! CD also has no sound output.

It’s more likely to be caused by a damaged speaker wire. If one of your Miatas door speakers isn’t working, the most common location of the short will be where the harness enters the door (since it moves).
