A Friend to Die For is a 1994 American psychological thriller television film directed by William A. Graham. Written by Dan Bronson, the film is based on the real-life murder of Kirsten Costas, who was killed by her classmate, Bernadette Protti, in 1984.
It starts Kellie Martin, Tori Spelling, Valerie Harper, Terry O'Quinn, Marley Shelton and James Avery. Angela Delvecchio (Martin), a sophomore at wealthy, high-achieving Santa Mira High School, wishes to rise through the ranks of the school hierarchy and win over the acceptance of Stacy Lockwood (Spelling), a popular queen bee at the school.
