Alan Mark Poul (born May 1, 1954) is an American film and television producer and director. Career. Poul served as executive producer for the HBO original series, Six Feet Under, on which he made his directing debut. He directed four episodes of the series from seasons two through five. [3]
Poul graduated from Yale University with a degree in Japanese Language and Literature, which led to his involvement in "Mishima" and "Black Rain." He is currently (2020) revisiting his Japanese roots as Executive Producer and director of HBO Max's upcoming "Tokyo Vice."
