Jan 19, 2022 · 1963 Ampeg Reverberocket 2 (Image credit: Heritage Auctions) The earliest schematics for the proper Reverberocket model date to May 1961, a full year and a half before Fender’s first reverb-laden combo, the Vibroverb, hit the scene in early 1963.
A vintage 1965 Ampeg GS-12R Reverberocket 2 tube combo amp in great condition. Prized for its warm clean tone and tweed-esque overdrive, the Reverberocket 2 also features a robust long-spring reverb and and one of the best tremolo circuits around.

The Ampeg Reverberocket R-12 R was a 1x12 all tube combo with 12 watts. It was based on the Ampeg Rocket but included reverb. Reissued in 1996 through 2007. Years of Production: 1961 - 1963.
Sep 3, 2012 · I had a Reverberocket 2 but it was destroyed in a hurricane. I've since replaced it with a 65 Gemini 1 which works extremely well with my D'Armond pickups. The Ampeg amps were oribinally made for jazz type music which is why it sounds so good.

Mar 10, 2008 · Houston, Tx. Great amp and about on par with a Fender Deluxe Reverb, although perhaps not quite as loud. The tubes in yours sound like it might be from 65 to 68 or so. I have a 67 cut down to a head.
May 18, 2022 · Ampeg generally uses capacitance coupled reverbs. They’re fairly simple but use higher input impedance tanks. If the tanks aren’t original I’ve seen more than once a standard fender style low impedance tank stuck in there leading to weak verb.
