Singer. He was a 1970s-1980s pop icon, teen idol and musician. His three older brothers: Barry, Maurice, and Robin, formed The Bee Gees singing group, and Gibb was considered to join them before he chose to go his own way. He first appeared with the short-lived band Melody Fayre.
Gibb's body was flown to the United States, where he was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles. The headstone reads "Andy Gibb / March 5, 1958 – March 10, 1988 / An Everlasting Love", after one of his hit singles.
