Teachers: Explore timing and format for the AP English Language and Composition Exam. Review sample questions, responses and scoring guidelines.
APL is an array language, and one of the oldest programming languages still in use today, next to FORTRAN, Lisp and COBOL. APL uses its own curious-looking symbols, like ⍎⌽⍕⌈* ≡⍬, rather than reserved words written out in English like most other languages, like C or Python.
It is designed for non-native speakers to prepare for studying in an English-speaking university, particularly in North America. The course also gives students a chance to earn college credit. The three-hour exam assesses four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
