Army General Review - 7/10. Eugen's Army General is a fun addition to Warno that finally adds a more in-depth single player element to the game - but don't expect something revolutionary. It still comes with all the foibales you'd expect from previous Steel Division titles.

Army General is a turnbased strategy game that depicts the desert warfare in Northern Afrika and parts of the Mediterranean sea during World War II.
Fight back the Italian invasion of Egypt in 1940 with the Desert Rats or advance to Suez with the Afrikakorps in 1941/42. Adjust your units to the challenges of each map by exchanging officers, equipment and subordinate units. Create your own maps and campaings for yourself or to share it with other players.

Army General is a fun game mode but it can be hard to pick the correct campaign, especially for newer players. Here are my personal rankings, best to worst, of the (currently) 8 in-game campaigns. Edit: I am primarily rating these based on how fun they are to play vs another player.
Army general mode is basically a turn based strategy map mode, where you control individual battalions and such to try and achieve an objective. I don’t know what game also does something similar to sd2 but it is both challenging as it is rewarding when you break through the enemy and encircle a bunch of units.
