After attending the McBurney School in New York City, Josephson graduated from American University, Washington DC in 1978, and was an active member of its American University School of Communication Alumni program.

Barry Sonnenfeld (born April 1, 1953) is an American filmmaker and television director. He originally worked as a cinematographer for the Coen brothers before directing films such as The Addams Family (1991) and its sequel Addams Family Values (1993), Get Shorty (1995), the Men in Black trilogy (1997–2012), and Wild Wild West (1999).
Adams also served as a producer of the film alongside Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld. Talks of an Enchanted sequel began in early 2010, but the project languished in development hell for several years. By 2017, it was announced Adams had signed on to reprise her role and filming was set to begin that summer, but it never came to fruition.
