The round tower of Burnham Deepdale church was here before that rise in prosperity, probably as early as the 11th Century. It appears all the more rugged for being set against a church which was given a proper going over by Frederick Preedy in the 1870s, a decade when he left his considerable mark on a number of churches in this part of Norfolk.
