1914. 18 year U.S. 7th Calvary veteran Nichols returns home to his namesake hometown, Nichols, Arizona. He finds out his mother has died and his family ranch has been taken. Right away gets into trouble and winds up becoming the sheriff.
Nichols: Created by Frank Pierson. With James Garner, Margot Kidder, Neva Patterson, John Beck. In 1914, Nichols, a soldier, sick of killing, returns to his Arizona hometown, and is serving as Sheriff by the Ketcham clan, who run the area.
