Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (sometimes called Bowie 1973) is a 1979 British documentary / concert film by D. A. Pennebaker. It features English singer-songwriter David Bowie and his backing group the Spiders from Mars performing at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 3 July 1973, the final date of his Ziggy Stardust Tour. 'Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture’ is digitally restored (now in 4K and with 5.1 sound) and complete for the first time. Released to mark the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s last show as his famous alter-ego, the film was unveiled at a Global Premiere on 3 July 2023, 50 years to the day since his last performance.
Stardust is a 2020 biographical drama film about English singer-songwriter David Bowie and his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust, directed by Gabriel Range, from screenplay co-written by Range with Christopher Bell. Johnny Flynn stars as Bowie, alongside Jena Malone and Marc Maron in supporting roles.
