Tutorials. One of the pillars of the AVID program is the tutorial groups where students are supported in their rigorous coursework through the help of college level tutors. It is not a place where students do homework or have others review class content if they were absent or not paying attention.
With support from several funders, including the NoVo Foundation and the St. David’s Foundation, Austin ISD staff have engaged in a multi-year, human-centered design process to intentionally update the district’s multi-tiered system of social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health supports to better promote student wellbeing.
