In 2018, Shearer released an album in the persona of Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls. The single "It Don't Get Old" was, as per the credits, co-written by David St. Hubbins. On the 27 of April 2019, the band reunited at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival for the 35th anniversary of the film.
