Dec 7, 2018 · Where is the House on Fire Trailhead and how long is the trail? The trailhead is 0.3 miles down Texas Flat Road in Mule Canyon, not by the Mule Canyon roadside ruins. It is 25 miles from Blanding on Highway 95. You’ll see a sign for the road, but the trailhead isn’t well marked.
From here, the trail along the south fork of the canyon is reached by walking northwards through a thin strip of woodland to the edge of the plateau, then scrambling down a steep, overgrown slope, meeting the path on the far side of the streamway. Walls and windows, House on Fire Ruin.
