     HTML5 is just another (the fifth) revision of the "usual" HTML standard. It mainly describes several new features, but still consists of plain text files and does not require any special tools on your computer.

     The interesting question is whether your browser supports the new features of HTML5 (or rather: the browser of the person viewing your site), where usually none of the modern browsers (for IE that's 10+) should have serious issues.

     Personally I'd start by learning C# without ASP.NET, preferrably via console applications. That way you can get to grips with the language and the core types (collections, I/O, text, primitives etc) without being hampered by all the extra stuff ASP.NET throws in your way.

     There are various oddities in any "peripheral" technology (ASP.NET, WCF, WPF, WinForms etc) that it can be very confusing if you don't know the core stuff well: if something goes wrong, you can easily end up not having the faintest idea where to start finding the problem. Is it a misunderstanding about the language? The collections? The way that ASP.NET events are autowired? I'm sure you see what I mean :)

     C# 3.0 in a Nutshell is a good book in terms of covering the language and the core framework. Then get a good ASP.NET book separately.

     ASP.NET is a web framework - in other words it is simply a set of libraries that make creating websites easier by abstracting away all the tedious details. In order to write code to harness this framework you will need to use one of Microsoft's .NET languages (C#, VB.NET, etc.).

     All the "graphic" things are supported by libraries, no matter in C(e.g. GTK, SDL) or C++ (e.g. QT).

     And for hardware drive programming, no matter what language it is. You have to compile it into binaries so that the hardware will knows how to run. You can even create your own language if you can write your own compiler.

     Yes you would have to know how to use basic Java before doing Android programming. However, you can learn Java by doing Android programming. Here's a link if you want to start Android development itself: LINK

     I do recommend learning Java beforehand though. It might get tough if they ask you to alter some .xml files and you still haven't figured out how the java files work and stuff like that.

     I guess you could follow these steps:

     • Learn the basic variables and such for Java
     • Learn how to use functions (and methods)
     • Learn how to use classes
     • Start using this knowledge to build a basic Android app. (I recommend NOT starting with actual game development if that's what you want)

     There is no dynamically allocated memory in the examples you show.

     char* var1 = "Random string";

     The memory for var1 is allocated either statically (for the duration of the program) or automatically (for the duration of execution of its associated block), depending on where this declaration appears. In either case, it is managed by the C implementation, and you do not need to do anything to release it.

     The memory for "Random string" is allocated statically.

     char* firstline;fscanf(input, "%s", firstline);-

     As above, the memory for firstline is allocated either statically or automatically. However, firstline must be set to point to memory before passing it to fscanf. Your example does not show this. If firstline is set to memory allocated dynamically, as with malloc, then good practice is often to call free to release the memory when it is no longer needed. (This is not necessary when exiting a program in a general-purpose multi-user operating system.)

     char* names[] = {"Karla", "Rob", "Tom"};-

     This the same as the first example.
