Yes, I know a small number of early PDK's had some computer wiring problems that led to a major mechanical failure of the transmission. Yes, I know some folks are concerned about possible valve deposits due to direct injection.
Nov 4, 2022 · Unfortunately Porsche consider the PDK transmission a non-service item, requiring a full replacement if there’s an internal fault, either mechanical or electrical. Unless you can negotiate a significant price reduction I’d agree with Ellis and keep looking for a suitable car.
May 11, 2023 · Porsche’s PDK transmission is a dual-clutch transmission with seven forward gears. Built by ZF, it uses separate clutches for each of the rotating gear shafts that allow each shaft to pre-select the next gear so that shifts happen in a hundredth of a second.
