Microsoft Flight Simulator launches with 20 aircraft available to all players, from single-engine light aircraft to the world's prominent passenger jets. The base game ships with an extensive initial roster, differing in aircraft type and hailing from varying manufacturers.

The Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions of the title also have five extra planes each, introducing new options within each class. This list has also been updated to reflect the July 2021 update, Sim Update 5, bringing optional floats and skis to four existing aircraft in the Flight Simulator list. Those without their desired planes listed will also find various paid options available via third-party creators, sold via the in-game Marketplace tab.

That diversity also means different handling and performance, with multiple methods of input within each class. While the best yokes for Microsoft Flight Simulator will aid your experience in the Cessna family, airliners like the Airbus A320neo are suited to joysticks in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Those on Xbox consoles will have fewer options for peripherals, although all handle well on a controller.

We've wrapped up every plane available in Microsoft Flight Simulator as of the latest update, including a brief overview of features, and their required editions.

This narrow-body, twin-engine airliner joined the commercial fleet last decade, now among the top for short and medium-haul routes. The A320 pushed the Airbus family into the digital age, going head to head with the Boeing 737.

It's one of the best-selling airliners for a reason, propelling its glass controls and digital fly-by-wire flight control system into the mainstream, and swapping the traditional yoke for the side stick. The A320neo is one of three out-of-box airliners in Microsoft Flight Simulator, accompanied by long-range, widebody alternative, Boeing's 787-10 Dreamliner.

The 747 earned its title as "Queen of the Skies," with the 747-8 Intercontinental the latest iteration of its passenger variant. This iconic family of four-engine airliners has seen over half a century airborne, helping bring long-haul routes to the masses. The wide-body design is larger, longer, and heavier than any other plane in Microsoft Flight Simulator as of launch.

Included with: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition

Among the largest aircraft available in Microsoft Flight Simulator from launch, the wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner reigns king in long-haul travel. This widely popular airliner has joined dozens, best known for its high fuel efficiency and performance over those multi-hour routes.

The -10 revision is a souped-up spin, stretching its super lightweight composite fuselage for added capacity. When you're making those cross-continental journeys, the Dreamliner never disappoints.

This business-built turboprop from Beechcraft helps keep companies on the move, with capacity for up to 11 occupants and other cargo. It has dual propellers, each with 1,050-horsepower Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engines, touch screen avionics, and weather tracking.

Included with: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition

The Cessna 208 B Grand Caravan provides a general-purpose utility transport for all your needs, from passengers through cargo. This braced, high-wing monoplane features a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A engine up front, with the -B variant extending its length with an additional 4 feet in the cabin over the base design.

Included with: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition

Daher TBM 930 comes as one of the latest revisions to the once-SOCATA branded light aircraft line, known as a speedy single-engine turboprop for business and utility. The 900-series refined its design, now faster and more efficient, while improving its aluminum and steel assembly with revised aerodynamics. The standout of the 930 comes with its digital avionics, credited to the Garmin's G3000 touchscreen system.

Included with: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Premium Deluxe Edition

Carting up to 10 passengers in this luxury blend of speed and range, the Cessna Citation CJ4 is the latest revision for business travel with comfort and amenities to spare. The model brings a swept wing and extended cabin, with a lavish glass avionics suite behind the yoke.

    Included with: Premium Deluxe Edition

The Cessna Citation Longitude serves up a premium business jet, touting leading comfort and low noise, for up to 12 passengers. It's designed with range and efficiency in mind, tying up navigation and communication in the cutting-edge Garmin G5000 flight deck.
