Downfall Campaign is a game mode and the namesake of the mod. It features players battling through Acts 1-4 similar to the Standard Campaign, but playing as various different bosses and monsters. Throughout the playthrough, the player will collect Cards, Relics, and Potions like a standard run, but also Souls, which function near identically to Gol...
A playthrough is very similar to the standard mode, except
•Each Act ends with a fight with 1 of the 5 different standard playable characters (Ironclad, Silent, Defect, Watcher, Hermit). The deck each uses is based on the act they are fought in. For further explanation of their fights, see Bosses.
•Many Events are unique, including the starting Event, Shop, and the entirety of Act 4.
•Colorless cards are replaced with a new set of cards called Boss Cards.
All potions and relics are shared between Standard and Downfall, unless they are character or Event exclusive.
All normal enemy encounters, as well as elites (excluding one) are identical to a standard run.
At the start of each playthrough of Downfall, the player will encounter The Corrupt Heart of the Spire.
If the player has at least encountered boss of the first Act in the previous run, The Heart will offer a selection of 4 starting bonuses.
•The first 2 options are always beneficial, often offering a common relic, souls, cards, potions, transformation, or a card upgrade.
•As the second option The Heart may offer to make the first 3 combats flee in terror. This is given in the form of the special relic The Heart's Malice.
•The 3rd option is always a trade-off, requiring the player to give all their souls or even sacrificing HP, but offering potent starting bonuses like rare relics or rare cards.
•The 4th option has the player give up their starting relic in exchange for a random boss relic.
When players encounter a Shop, they will first engage in a battle with the Merchant, which always plays out the same:
The Merchant starts with Barricade and 400 HP
The Merchant's Strength, Stolen Souls, and HP are retained through an entire playthrough.
After the fight, the player will be able to purchase offers from The Heart for Souls, offering the same things as the Merchant in a standard run, minus the colorless cards being replaced with special boss cards.
Act 4 is one of the main changes to the map outside of bosses. Accessing Act 4 requires the 3 Keys, which are obtained identically to a standard run, but also must be broken at a rest site for 50 souls each (Breaking won't use up a campfire).
Each broken key gives a corresponding relic: Emerald Heart Blessing, Ruby Heart Blessing, and Sapphire Heart Blessing.

Demon Tower, or as players often shorten it to DT, is the first dungeon players can enter. It is accessible from level 40 on and only if you talk to the Demon Tower Guard in Hwang Temple. If you are level 60 or higher, you can teleport to the entrance of Demon Tower if you talk with Teleporter .
