Moderate to strenuous hike to Cirque and Emmaline Lakes. First three miles on old logging road. Last two miles on trail through riparian forest which steepens before reaching the hanging valley below Comanche Peak which contains the lakes. Abundant wildflowers. 2063' elev. gain to 11,000'.

Here, stay straight on the Emmaline Lake Trail. At this point, you will intersect with the creek again and meet several of the backcountry campsites at Cirque Meadow. Hike up the trail, gradually gaining elevation as you reenter the woodlands and meet a waterfall. Nearing the lake, there are also more campsites around the small waterfall.
Directions: Travel 11 miles northwest of Fort Collins on U.S. Highway 287 to Colorado Highway 14. Turn left on CO 14, and travel 26 miles west to County Road 63E, Pingree Park Road.
