Polish all pieces to be plated to a mirror finish free of scratches. Clean all pieces to be plated into a heated ultrasonic for 2 - 3 minutes. Rinse well in dis lled water. Use ElectrokingTM to electroclean pieces at 2-6 volts, 140°F (60 °C) for 15-30 seconds using a stainless anode.

This month, we asked Neil Bell at Red Sky Plating in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to test the Super-brite rhodium plating solution from Balti-more-based Cohler Enterprises Inc., which the company promotes as being suitable for use at room temperature, capable of plating longer without burning, and designed to produce a bright, white mirror finish.
Rhodium Plating Solution. Acid based solution used with platinized titanium anode. It produces a shiny white color. Ready to use, they come with one pint bottles containing 1 or 2 grams of Rhodium. It will plate directly on gold, platinum, or nickel.
