BIOGRAPHY. Felipe Fernández-Armesto was born in London in 1950, of Anglo-Spanish parentage, and attended school in England. He was a Libre-oyente (non-examination student) at the University of Salamanca, and an undergraduate and doctoral student at Oxford (First Class Honours, Final School of Modern History 1972; MA 1976; D.Phil. 1977).
