William George Bonin (January 8, 1947 – February 23, 1996), also called the Freeway Killer [2] and the Freeway Strangler, [3] was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered young men and boys between November 1968 and June 1980 in southern California.

Defendant William George Bonin, the “Freeway Killer,” kidnapped, robbed, raped and murdered a total of 14 teenaged boys between 1979 and 1980. His co-defendants were also young men between the ages of 17 and 21. The defendant was sentenced to death in 1982 for 10 murders throughout Los Angeles County.
