Sep 18, 2019 · Graeme Cameron Gibson - Life - Margaret Atwood. – August 09, 1934 – September 18, 2019 –. Graeme Gibson died peacefully in the University College Hospital in London, England, with friends and family beside him, as the result of a hemorrhagic stroke. He was in his 86 th year.
He was a founder and chair of the Pelee Island Bird Observatory, served on the Council of the World Wildlife Fund, and with Margaret Atwood, as co-chair of Birdlife International's Rare Bird Club. He was a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society , which awarded him a Gold Medal in 2015.
