On December 2-3, the UMS Choral Union and Ann Arbor Symphony will return, conducted by Scott Hanoian and joined by four guest soloists.

Dec 4, 2021 · Over the course of just a few weeks in the summer of 1741, Handel composed the entirety of his oratorio Messiah, which had a triumphant premiere six months later at a new concert hall in Dublin. Nearly 300 years later, Messiah continues to fill Hill Auditorium with its ravishing beauty, brought to life by friends and colleagues from the community.
Former U-M regent Arthur Hill bequeathed $200,000 to the university for the construction of an auditorium for lectures, concerts and other university events. The hall was designed by the Detroit firm of Albert Kahn and Associates, who have conceived of many notable structures, including the Rouge River plant in Dearborn, Michigan.
