A former Assistant Organist at Hereford Cathedral, graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Organ Scholar of Christ’s College, Cambridge, his musical achievements led to him being awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. He is Music Director of Cantemus Chamber Choir, widely regarded as one of Wales’ finest choirs.

In 1999, Williams made his recording debut, appearing on the album The English Anthem, Vol. 7. His solo debut, Christmas Organ Music from St. Paul's Cathedral, came in 2004.
